FRENCH F4 CHAMPIONSHIP 2017

Victor Martins wins the race and Arthur Rougier the title!

The curtain came down on the 2017 French F4 Championship this Sunday with the last heat on the Paul Ricard circuit. Victor Martins drove a stunning race and was on the first step of the podium in front of Arthur Rougier and Ugo de Wilde. This result confirmed Rougier as the 2017 champion.

Thus, the 2017 season came to an end for the drivers in the French F4 Championship this Sunday in the late afternoon on the Paul Ricard circuit. In the third race there were more duels. Martins, who was second on the grid, drove an almost perfect race to score victory helped by a very clean overtaking move on Hugo Chevalier after which he opened up a gap.

Rougier fought his way back up to second enabling him to celebrate his French F4 Championship title this evening after a well–judged season. De Wilde again made a big impression thanks to another good performance, which gave him another podium finish with third place. Chevalier couldn’t do better than fourth although he was very quick all weekend. Pierre-Alexandre Jean finished the season on a high note with fifth place in the race and fourth in the overall classification.

Danish driver Noah Watt put on a stonking performance which netted him sixth position after starting in 13th place. He made the best comeback in the last event of the season. Jean-Baptiste Mela ended the year with an intelligent drive and some good duels. Thanks to his encouraging results the young Corsican managed to work his way up into fifth place in the overall classification. Pierre-Louis Chovet finished eighth and looks like he‘s ready to tackle the 2018 season. Marvin Klein and Christian Muñoz rounded out the top 10.

Stuart White started 14th and gained three places to see the flag in 11th spot. Charles Milesi couldn’t do any better than 12th despite a few good scraps and a good start. Amaury Cordeel finished just behind him in 13th place. Florian Venturi finished last and Thomas Drouet had to retire due to an unfortunate accident.
