GRAND PRIX DE L’ÂGE D’OR 2022 : THE GREAT HOURS OF MOTOR RACING ON THE DIJON-PRENOIS CIRCUIT

From 3 to 5 June 2022, the Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or returns to the legendary Dijon-Prenois layout. An opportunity for the lovers of beautiful cars to relive, during a weekend, the golden age of motorsport on this circuit which celebrates its 50th anniversary this year. An awaited meeting of the Series by Peter Auto, the 57th Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or will feature over 220 racing cars, including some iconic Formula 1 cars from the 80s and 90s… On the Paddock side, the public will be able to walk around the Burgundian circuit and meet drivers and cars very closely.

220 CARS ON THE STARTING GRID

For this 57th edition, no less than 220 historic cars are expected on the 12 track corners. Amongst this prestigious cast, the amateurs will be able to admire the legendary GT40 chassis P1017 driven in the past by the expert hands of Chris Amon and Jochen Rindt, or the very rare DB Panhard HBR5 which took part, amongst others, in the Tour de France Automobile in 1958 as well as in the Le Mans 24 Hours in 1959. All these cars will be divided into 8 grids: Classic Endurance Racing 1 & 2, Heritage Touring Cup, Sixties’ Endurance, The Greatest’s Trophy, Fifities Legends, 2.0L Cup. Great novelty this year, the presence of a 100% F1 grid. Entitled Formula Legends 3.5, this demonstration grid will bring together iconic single-seaters cars from the 1987-1994 period with naturally aspirated 3.5-litre engines, witnessing the famous battles between Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna or the rise of Michael Schumacher. These parades, each lasting 25 minutes, will be followed throughout the weekend.

A PADDOCK AT THE HEART OF THE CIRCUIT EXCITEMENT

Other privileged actors of the Peter Auto events, 27 clubs will display their cars and will have the possibility to participate in the 6 driving sessions organised on the circuit. In the -free of charge- accessible paddock, the public will also be able to stroll around and enjoy the proximity of the drivers and their machines. It is in these temporary garages, accessible to visitors, that the 220 race cars will be prepared throughout the weekend. Automobile enthusiasts will also be able to discover the various shops in the exhibitors’ village, selling clothes, car antiques and collectable items. Everyone will be able to walk down the village to find the rare pearl or simply refresh yourself at the ice cream seller. Spectators are expected to arrive at the circuit entrance on Friday 3 June at 9am and will be able to choose between a 1-day pass (€.15) or a 3-day pass (€.25), with free outdoor parking. The appointment is given to the Grand Prix de l’Age d’Or, on 3-4-5 June 2022.
