Kessel Racing announces new Driver Line-up for Monza

Kessel Racing is back in the Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup: After missing the race weekend at Nürburgring, the Swiss-based team is pleased to be back on the grid with two Ferrari 296 GT3 at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza. Whilst Nicolò Rosi (Switzerland), Niccolò Schiro (Italy) and David Fumanelli (Italy) will take behind the wheel of the #8 Ferrari, there will be a new driver line-up for the number 74 car: The Brit Ben Tuck will be joined by Ashish Patel (USA) and Alex Fontana (Switzerland).

Following his accident during the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa, Nicolò Rosi is fully back up to speed and ready to tackle the legendary racetrack of Monza alongside his teammates. Whilst both Ben Tuck and Alex Fontana are already familiar with the 5.793-km-long track in the “Temple of Speed”, it will be a weekend of many firsts for Ashish Patel. Coming straight out of a Racing Academy, the American driver started his racing career in the Ferrari Challenge with Kessel Racing, and it will be the first time for him taking a seat in the Ferrari 296 GT3 in the GT World Challenge in Monza.

Alex Fontana has been close to the Kessel Racing family since his early days in karting and has a vast experience in the GT World Challenge, especially in Monza, where he climbed onto the podium in 2021.

The Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe powered by AWS Endurance Cup will take place at Monza from 20th until 22nd September 2024.

Ben Tuck (Great Britain)
“Racing at Monza, in a Ferrari, with Kessel Racing, what more could I ask for? I am very excited to take behind the wheel and can’t wait to get out on track and start working with my new team-mates!”

Ashish Patel (USA)
“I am very happy to join Kessel Racing for the Endurance Race at Monza, after having joined the team during my armature days. It will be a challenging race as the championship is very competitive, but I am used to being around fast traffic having raced in the GT Open and Intercontinental Challenge. Monza will be one step up and I am excited for this new adventure.”

Alex Fontana (Switzerland)
“It will be great to share a car with Ben Tuck and Ashish Patel. Ben is a very fast driver and for Ashish it will be an amazing chance. I know the championship well as I won five races in the Silver Cup there and I really look forward to being back in the GT World Challenge.”
