Impressive streak of success: three DTM title wins within only four years
Formula for success: consequent detail work, team spirit and a never-give-up mentality

Munich/Neustadt (12 March 2021). With consequent detail work, a strong team spirit and the mentality of never giving up, Team Rosberg dominated DTM in recent years: three times in four seasons, Rosberg driver René Rast ended up as the champion. “Recently having won three titles, it has to be our aim to be in contention for the DTM title again,” team principal Kimmo Liimatainen points out in his extensive interview with the DTM.com web portal. With the same formula for success, the team, founded by ex-Formula 1 world champion Keke Rosberg and based in Neustadt an der Weinstraße, Germany, intends to attack in the 2021 DTM.

However, configurations have changed. Runner-up Nico Müller is returning to Team Rosberg where his DTM career started in 2014. Alongside the Swiss, DTM rookie Dev Gore (USA) will be driving the second Audi R8 LMS. “I am expecting a very strong competition. Starting Audi-internally with ABT Sportsline and then continuing with Ferrari, Mercedes, BMW up to McLaren: the DTM field will be very strong. We are bracing ourselves for very intense, hard-fought races,” the 42-year-old team principal still sees the outfit in a good position.

In the interview with DTM.com, Kimmo Liimatainen also speaks about the initial contact with Dev Gore, the ongoing preparation, the qualities of the Audi R8 LMS and the status of DTM. “DTM has a tremendous history and a high awareness level,” says Liimatainen while also underlining the significance of TV partner SAT.1.
