As the second offseason test for the F.Renault 3.5 championship kicks off at Alcaniz, Pons Racing lines-up with two fresh young prospects, eager to impress

Lining-up at the Spanish Motorland Aragon venue for the second out of three offseason Formula Renault 3.5 tests, Pons Racing enjoyed the warm Alcaniz weather today as they fielded two cars for Sandy Stuvik, who has recently been crowned champion in the Euroformula Open, and Luis Sa Silva, coming from the GP3 Series. With Oscar Tunjo already confirmed for the 2014 season, the Spanish operation, directed by Emilio De Villota, is evaluating up-and-rising prospects for their second car. Stuvik will return for Day 2 alongside Tunjo, while during Day 3, the Colombian will be joined by rookie Nelson Mason, also coming from the Euroformula Open. Concerning today’s two sessions, Stuvik and Sa Silva did a great job, progressing at every lap they logged. The Thai driver totaled 69 laps, while the Angolan run 71 laps, also delivering a great feedback to the team.

Emilio De Villota – Team Manager
“I’m very satisfied with the work done by Sandy and Luis. They had the right approach to a car that can be particularly tricky to tame. Stuvik will stay with us tomorrow, while Sa Silva will test for other teams so I’m sure he’ll be able to improve even further. I was very impressed by how easily Stuvik came from a 4-day Euroformula finale in which won the title and then quickly adapted to a Formula Renault 3.5 car that has 300 more horsepower than his Formula 3. He successfully switched to a very different mindset, and it wasn’t easy”.
