After the two-day testing held at the Circuito de Jerez, the French racing track hosts two Euroformula Open races and twenty drivers will be line up on the starting grid
The Winter Series approach one of their pre-season highlights this week at Paul Ricard, as two races will take place on Saturday and this event will provide the perfect training ground for the large entry list getting together at Le Castellet, near Marseille. At the Circuito de Jerez teams and drivers had their first contact this year and now Paul Ricard provides an unique occasion to keep working on the upcoming and demanding new season.
Konstantin Tereschenko (Campos Racing) topped the times in Jerez, but followed by Alessio Rovera (Team West-Tec) and Yu Kanamaru (Emilio de Villota Motorsport) close behind. This Winter Series round will show if the same drivers dominate the timesheets or, on the contrary, there are now names on top.
The entry list is spearheaded by Andrés Saravia, wearing the number one, and teaming up with Vítor Rodrigues Baptista, Damiano Fioravanti and Polish duo of Igor Walilko and Antoni Ptak, all of them driving RP Motorsport-entered machines.
But their list of rivals is large and getting even stronger. At Campos Racing, it is worth mentioning Mexico´s Diego Menchaca and Brazil´s Henrique Baptista alongside Tereschenko. Another Spanish team, Emilio de Villota Motorsport, will field three cars for Kanamaru – who played a major role in Jerez, dominant in wet conditions- and José Manuel Vilalta, both of them already confirmed for 2015. The car driven by Michael Dörrbecker on the opening round will be for another youngster, Spain´s Eduardo García, who has achieved a brilliant record in karting.
At Team West-Tec the Israeli Yarin Stern and Thai Tanart Sathienthirakul will be joined by a third driver to be announced. John Simonyan will be behind the wheel of the MKTG car and Corbetta Competizioni, DAV Racing and BVM will have some familiar faces on board.
So, Edy Haxhiu is back with Angelo Corbetta´s team and William Barbosa will team up with Rovera at BVM, the squad led by Giuseppe Mazzotti. At DAV Racing, Matteo Davenia has confirmed Leonardo Pulcini with a second driver to be announced shortly.
