E’ finita la pausa estiva per il mondo dei motori e Joel Camathias torna in pista questo weekend per il quarto appuntamento della Targa Tricolore Porsche, che è in programma sul circuito del Mugello. La gara, inquadrata nell’Endurance Champions Cup, si disputa sabato 5 settembre, sulla durata di due ore e mezzo.
Il pilota ticinese sarà, come di consueto, al volante della Porsche 911 R GT3 dell’Autorlando Sport, condivisa con Giuseppe Ghezzi ed un nuovo acquisto del team bergamasco, Alessandro Giovannelli. Per Joel, un’ottima occasione di riprendere l’attività in vista dell’appuntamento del weekend successivo a Vallelunga, dove si disputerà la quinta prova dell’Italiano GT, programma principale del ticinese in questa stagione 2015.
Joel Camathias:
“Sono contento di tornare al volante dopo la pausa estiva, e di farlo al Mugello, una pista sempre esaltante, dove abbiamo corso a metà luglio nell’Italiano GT, il che dovrebbe tornarci utile nella messa a punto della macchina per questa gara della Targa Tricolore Porsche, una competizione sempre piacevole. Al momento sono secondo in classifica generale, proprio dietro al mio compagno Giuseppe Ghezzi, che ha disputato una gara in più. In Toscana, avremo un terzo pilota, Alessandro Giovannelli, che corre con noi per la prima volta e tutti insieme cercheremo di conseguire un ottimo risultato di squadra.”

Joel Camathias at Mugello for the Targa Tricolore Porsche
The summer break is over for motorsports and Joel Camathias is back on track this weekend for the fourth round of the Targa Tricolore Porsche, the Italian mono-brand series with Porsches 911, at Mugello. The race, on a length of 2,5 hours will take place on Saturday 5th September, in the framework of the Endurance Champions Cup.
The Swiss driver will be at the wheel of the Porsche 911 R GT3 by Autorlando Sport, shared with Giuseppe Ghezzi and a new-comer to the team, Alessandro Giovannelli. For Joel, an excellent opportunity to regain racing pace in view of the following weekend’s round, at Vallelunga, of the highly-competitive Italian GT Championship, which constitutes his main racing programme this year.
Joel Camathias:
“I am happy to be racing again after the summer break, and to do it at mugello, always an exciting track. We raced there mid-July with the Italian GT, and this will help us a lot in setting up the car for this event of the Targa Tricolore, which is a very pleasant series. At the moment, I am second in the standings, right behind my team mate Giuseppe Ghezzi, who raced one event more than me. In Tuscany, we will have with us a third driver, Alessandro Giovannelli, who joins us for the first time, and I am sure we will work well together to aim at a very good result for the team”.
