DTM season opener at Spa-Francorchamps

City of Nuremberg doesn’t grant permission for Norisring weekend
Mohaupt: “We respect the decision, we are looking forward to the season opener at Spa-Francorchamps”

The DTM races at the Norisring can not be held in 2020. The reason for the final cancellation of the only races at a street circuit that had been provisionally included in the revised DTM schedule is the fact that the City of Nuremberg doesn’t grant the necessary governmental permission. The local organizer informed the DTM organisation ITR accordingly.

As a result, the focus is now on the races at Spa-Francorchamps on 1 and 2 August as the season opener of the 2020 DTM. Here, authorities already granted the necessary permissions halfway through this week. During the DTM rounds, a detailed and precise infection prevention plan is in place, developed with renowned experts and permanently adapted to the dynamic situation involving the Covid-19 pandemic.

The compact and varied DTM calendar includes nine events in Germany, Belgium and The Netherlands, to be held between August and November.
