Alessio Rovera (June 22, 1995) made his debut in the Euroformula Open last year, in season finale at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, with Corbetta Competizioni and taking impressive 6th place. Earlier this season, he won the season opener in Jerez for DAV Racing and after the Andalusian event he joined BVM Racing. At the moment, the Italian racer sits 4th overall.

What are your thoughts after three events in the series?

“I think competition is exciting, with good level drivers. I obtained a 1st place in Jerez and a 2nd place in Paul Ricard, while I was not able to reply my performance in Portugal because I never had the opportunity to drive in that circuit and my car neither did. But I think I can improve a lot and I can win the championship.”

What do you expect for Silverstone? and for the remaining events?

“I always expect the best from everything I do. Silverstone is a circuit I need to know as well, because I have never driven there, but generally I want to be competitive and have fun.”

Tell us about your racing career. What were your first steps in racing?

“In 2013 I won the Formula Abarth Championship and I took also part to the “Supercorso Federale”. The Supercorso is a national competition where 6 talented drivers chosen by the National Federation race to show their skills. I won that championship too. In 2014 I took part to the Formula Renault 2.0 Alps obtaining good results and reaching the podium in different occasions.”

What goals do you set for your future in motorsport?

“My goal is to be in F1 soon. I know this doesn’t depend only from me, because without sponsors I cannot continue my career so I also hope to find somebody who believes on me and supports me on my way to F1.”

Finally, what is your opinion about the Euroformula Open?

“The EFOpen is a high level championship, with many important circuits and a good showcase for the future!”
