It was a magical Sunday the one that Pons Racing experienced in Monte-Carlo. Both Alex Fontana is Philo Paz Patric Armand got points at the end of a race full of unexpected events and even briefly stopped by the red flag after three laps. The Swiss driver, making its debut in the category and on a street circuit, delivered a ninth place thanks to a wise attentive and at the same time fast performance. After his bad accident during the qualifying session, Armand redeemed himself by scoring the tenth place and the first point of his season. Both drivers gained positions at the start, avoiding a multiple contact at the first corner, then managing the most of the remaining laps and defending the position conquered.
Philo Paz Patric Armand (#39): Race P10
“After the crash in qualifying, finishing with some points is really good for me. Special thanks to the guys at the team who have worked so hard to fix and adjust my car. I had a bit of understeer and brakes were not perfect, but it was normal considering that, after the reconstruction of the car, I could not test it before the race. After 10 laps, I felt an increasingly nagging back pain every time I passed over the curbs, so I decided not to push hard and to control the position. ”
Alex Fontana (#40): Race P9
“I enjoyed the race and the fact that I finished ninth and with points, it fills me with even more joy. After having avoided the contact with several riders in the first corner, I just managed the race. Then, after the restart followind the red flag, I had Gelael targeted. I put up my best effort to recover on him, but he cut the chicane after the tunnel, taking advantage again, and then I decided to gave up. I did not want to put this good result in jeopardy”.
