Iron Lynx announces it will be revising its lineup for the 6 Hours of Spa-Francorchamps. Following a physical issue at Circuit Paul Ricard, Claudio Schiavoni will focus on being fully fit for the demanding Le Mans race and will thus sit out of the Belgian classic for precautionary reasons.
The #60 car will thus welcome Stephen and Brenton Grove. The Australian pairing will have a unique chance to learn the car and tyres in a FIA WEC configuration before making their maiden Le Mans start. Iron Lynx stalwart Matteo Cressoni will also be stepping out for Spa-Francorchamps to support the effort by the newcoming combo to gain as much experience as possible. Matteo Cairoli will stay aboard the #60 Mercedes-AMG car to complete the trio.
Having the chance to race with its newest combination in such a close setting to the one to be used for Le Mans, Iron Lynx will forego its plans to compete in the 12 Hours of Misano.
As previously announced, Martin Berry will join the #61 crew, replacing Christian Ried. The Australian has been providing superb performances in ELMS and will be a welcome addition to the FIA WEC squad as it looks forward to adding more appearances for him in due course.
Brenton Grove – Driver, car #60 for the 2025 6 Hours of Spa: “It’s super exciting to make our WEC debut this weekend in Belgium. It’s a shame that it’s in these circumstances and we wish a speedy recovery for Claudio – we will do our best to make him proud. The team were great to work with in Portugal and we took some big steps forward, so it made sense to continue our program in the lead up to Le Mans. For sure, it will be a learning weekend but Spa is always unpredictable so anything is possible.”
Andrea Piccini – Team Principal and CEO: “First of all, we want to wish a very prompt recovery to Claudio. The decision to step out of Spa really shows his focus and dedication on being in top shape for the 24 Hours of Le Mans. I also thank Matteo for providing Stephen and Brenton with a unique chance to prepare for their first Le Mans race. We look forward to the 6 Hours of Spa and we are determined to make the most out of the experience”.
