Lamborghini named Official Cars Supplier for Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS

Lamborghini will provide the official Safety Car and Leading Car throughout the 2024 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season thanks to a new agreement between the Italian manufacturer and SRO Motorsports Group.

Both roles will be fulfilled by the Huracán Tecnica, a high-performance model powered by a 630 bhp V10 engine and capable of up to 325 km/h. Lamborghini will also provide the Course Car, Medical Car and reserve Safety Car at this year’s CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa (26-30 June). The marque’s Urus model will be utilised, with special branding incorporated to celebrate the centenary edition of the Belgian endurance classic.

This agreement adds a new dimension to a relationship between Lamborghini and SRO Motorsports Group that has endured for close to 30 years. Indeed, SRO was established by Stéphane Ratel in 1995 to oversee the Lamborghini Supertrophy. Its successor, the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, has been a familiar presence at SRO events around the world for more than a decade.

The 2024 Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS season launches this weekend (5–7 April) at Circuit Paul Ricard, which stages a three-hour Endurance Cup race on Sunday afternoon.

Stéphane Ratel, SRO Motorsports Group founder & CEO: “I am thrilled to announce Lamborghini as the new Safety Car and Leading Car supplier for Fanatec GT World Challenge Europe Powered by AWS and the CrowdStrike 24 Hours of Spa. SRO has enjoyed a long relationship with Lamborghini, so they were a natural partner to take on this important role. Having worked together for many years we know and trust each other, so I am sure that it will be a successful partnership.”
