A McLaren MP4 12C will campaign the International GT Open 2015. The machine is entered by Team3, a new squad established in Barcelona which emanates from Eurotech Engineering, seen in the series and other GT races last year.
Team3 has bought the McLaren from Bhai Tech, and is considering entering a second car, if possible. Already a confirmed driver is Ukraine’s Andriy Kruglyk (30), who has been competing recently in various GT competitions, taking a GTC win in ELMS last year and 3rd overall in Italy’s GT Sprint in 2013. Andriy also made a couple of appearances in GT Open races in 2013, clinching a GTS win in the Jerez round of the winter Series. Negotiations are under-way to close a deal for Kugkyk’s team mate.
From Adria, where the team is currently testing, team principal Alan Gomboso stated: “We are very happy to retake our GT Open project, after the bad luck of last year when our Lambo was destroyed in an accident in Round 1. We come-back with reinforced determination, a new car, a new outfit and a fast and determined driver such as Andriy. We look forward to set-up a competitive package and hopefully fight for race podiums.”
