The world’s most powerful electric vehicle – 3000hp – will be making a rare appearance at the eVillage for the Formula E Miami ePrix on March 14.
The 12-metre long ‘rocket’ belongs to the award-winning programme Venturi VBB, achieved by Venturi Automobiles, the Monaco-based manufacturer behind the Venturi Formula E Team and its partner Ohio State University Center for Automotive Research.
On display to all ticketholders in Formula E’s fan zone, the VBB-3 aims to break the 600kmh (372mph) barrier by 2015.
Venturi Automobiles and the OSU-CAR achieved 487kmh (303mph) in 2009, a first FIA world speed record with a fuel cell car (VBB-2) and in 2010 a FIA world speed record with a fully-electric car (VBB-2.5), 495kmh (307mph).
Roger Schroer, the world’s fastest electric driver, behind the wheel since 2009, will also be in Miami.
Along with the VBB-3, fans will also be able to enjoy a wide range of activities in the Miami eVillage including the Formula E eBikers and the driver autograph session.
